The holiday season can be a time of mixed emotions. This is especially true for those of us who have had loved ones depart from our lives recently. In recognition of this, Friends of UW Health is offering a program called Love Lights to provide friends and family the opportunity to honor and remember special people in their lives.
Due to construction at the clinics entrance of University Hospital, we will not be able to offer the light display. However, you can still honor your loved one through our virtual Love Lights program. The names of your loved ones will be included in a full-page ad in the Wisconsin State Journal on Sunday, December 19, 2021. The names will also be included in an LCD screen display outside the main entrance of the hospital and on the friendsofuwhealth.org/lovelights website.
For a minimum $5 donation, one Love Light will be hung. Place three lights for $10, 100 lights for $100 or an entire grid of lights for $500. Larger gifts are welcome.
Everyone is invited to attend a virtual Remembrance and Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 4pm. The event will feature musical entertainment by the Madison Youth Choirs, remarks from University Hospital leadership and physicians, a video memorial presentation and the Love Lights lighting. The ceremony will also be made available on UW Health’s YouTube channel on Monday, December 13 so you can view it any time.
The Love Lights program directly benefits UW Health patients and their families through Friends of UW Health.
