The holiday season can be a time of mixed emotions. This is especially true for those of us who have had loved ones depart from our lives recently. In recognition of this, Friends of UW Health is offering a program called Love Lights to provide friends and family the opportunity to honor and remember special people in their lives.
Lights located outside the main entrances of UW Hospital and Clinics will be illuminated by Love Lights throughout the winter season to provide public recognition of special people in our lives.
For a minimum $5 donation, one Love Light will be hung. Place three lights for $10, 100 lights for $100 or an entire grid of lights for $500. Larger gifts are welcome.
Because we can’t meet in person this year, we are offering the opportunity to place the name(s) of your loved one(s) in our full-page newspaper ad in the Wisconsin State Journal on December 20, 2020 as well as online at uwhealth.org/lovelights.
Everyone is invited to attend a virtual Remembrance and Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 4pm. The event will feature musical entertainment by the Madison Youth Choirs, remarks from University Hospital leadership and physicians, a video memorial presentation and the Love Lights lighting. The ceremony will also be made available on UW Health’s YouTube channel on Monday, December 21 so you can view it any time.
The Love Lights program directly benefits UW Health patients and their families through Friends of UW Health.
