Friends of UW Health is a non-profit organization lead by dedicated volunteers committed to raising money to enhance the experience of UW Health patients and families.  They fund programs such as Wigs for Patients, which provides a free wig, products and styling to any patient losing their hair due to medical treatment.  Each year they provide more than 400 free wigs.

Friends was formed in 1973 to provide resources and support programs to improve the lives of patients and their families.  Since then, more than $6 million has been raised, making a difference for many individuals and families.  Their annual grant program has funded initiatives such as acupuncture and non-pharmaceutical therapies, iPads for patient education and distraction in the chemotherapy center, and many other patient-centered services.
